skull tote

I made this super cute bag twice so far for ladies at my work using the pattern from hello yarn. I know one of them is going to use it as a diaper bag… much more rock and roll than your typical baby stuff! I switched to Patons classic wool the second time around and it’s a lot cheaper than specialty store wool but still works great!

cherry blossom bag

I made this bag as a special request from Olivia and it’s my favorite project that I’ve done so far. It’s the first time I ever attempted any sort of embroidery and although it was difficult, I’m really happy with the results. The bag pattern is Sophie by Julie Anderson and I “free handed” the embroidery using my own sketch created from several cherry blossoms photos as a reference.

necks

Katie is modeling some “necks” aka cowls for me. Don’t feel like dealing with a scarf? Try a neck!

mom’s purse

I made a purse like this a while back and my mom requested one. I gave it to her for Christmas last year but am finally putting it up. Karmella is showing is off for me!

baby blanket

I made this for my cousin’s baby shower. You can’t really tell from the picture, but it’s a light purple shimmery yarn. It’s a cute little thing.

Purse

Orange Purse

I made this purse a while ago and finally got it all lined and everything. I didn’t use a pattern, but I based it roughly off the shape of the green and white felted purse I made before. I found some nice dark red denim to line it with. My mom likes it a lot and wants one for Christmas so if I don’t sell it I’ll give this one to her.

Jayne Hat

After some convincing, Wyatt got me to make this Jayne Hat for him to wear at Dragoncon this year. I love making things for him but couldn’t believe he actually wanted this goofy hat. It turned out to be super easy and fun to make so I’m glad I did! For those of you who don’t know what it is, the tough guy character Jayne, in the Firefly series, got this silly hat from his mother one episode.

I used Heather Hill’s pattern as a guide for my first hat. Using her pattern I got to do my first cable cast on as well as learn how to make my first pom pom. Pretty exciting advances in my world of knitting. (; It’s a great pattern but in the end a hat is a hat no matter how you put it together so I created my own version from that point on. My first change was to double up with worsted Lambs Pride because the shop didn’t have the bulky colors I needed, but I ended up loving that brand of yarn and how the two strands look together.

Slytherin Scarf

I got the request to make this Slytherin scarf from my friend Byron earlier in July. It was a nice change from only doing Gryffindor ones! I used Caron Simply Soft which has a nice sheen to it.

gryffindor scarf #2

IMG_1096.jpg

I had another request by my friend Jason to make a gryffindor scarf for his mom’s b-day. I was on a time crunch and knit like crazy over the weekend… I thought my hand was going to fall off! I just made the finishing touches by ironing it and putting on the tassles. In other news, I think I finally got the crazy spam comment problem under control. Unfortunately it means that you have to get a free account with this typekey thing if you want to leave a comment, but it’s an easy one time deal. Now I just have to start deleting all the thousands of nonsense comments.

first felted purse

IMG_0897.jpg

I’m so excited about this purse! It’s my first felted purse ever and it turned out fantastic. I really love the button - I got it from this killer pack of vintage looking buttons from Michael’s for only 4 bucks. I used Lopi by Reynolds Yarns and the pattern is “Pink Lady” from Designs by Shelley.
