we’re on the top of the world, here tonight

What the hell am I willingly doing up at 7:30 in the morning? I’ve been rolling around since 5:30 this morning and finally gave up. Made myself a nice breakfast of scrambled eggs with easy cheese on top. =D

Things are looking up.

Grandma is doing well, they’ll be moving her into a normal hospital room soon. That is one strong lady.

Things are going fabulous with the band. We have a nice two week break from shows, and then we play a huge show at the Ottobar with the Ultimate Fakebook, Reunion Show, and Fallout Boy. Oh man, I’m so excited. *geeks out* We’re in the process of being looked at by a few labels which is also really exciting. AND we’re planning a tour for the first two weeks in August.. we’ve got NY, Boston, Atlanta so far. It’s going to be insane! I’m so scared, but so excited. I’ll be more places in 2 weeks than I’ve ever been in my life. Rock.

rough times

I apologize for not updating in a while. I go through these periods where I’m scared to write anything, becuase I don’t want people to a) think I’m a pretentious scenster putting my two cents in about music and b) I don’t want people to think I’m dumb or dramatic when writing about my life. It’s all that guys fault who left that nasty message a few months ago. Oh well. Things have also been kind of crazy lately, especially in the past few weeks.

My parents have been really stressed out. Especially my mom, becuase my grandma got sick and couldn’t keep food down for a week. They said she had an infection and sent her home. To make a long story short, yesterday they found a blockage in her intestines and it’s cancer. They’re operating Thursday at 2:00.. I believe they’re doing a colostomy. She’s 87 so if she makes it through it will be a miracle. Even if she does, we’ll have to put her in assisted living and sell her house and stuff so it’s going to be pretty bad. My poor mom is a mess, her dad died when I was younger and didn’t really understand. So now her mom is dying too - I can’t even imagine. And my poor grandma.. if I was in her place I don’t know what I’d do. How can you accept that you’re probably going to die soon? And if you don’t die.. you’re going to have to have a bag attatched to your body that will collect your waste becuase they took your insides. Not to mention move out of your house and into a strange place.

I’m so afraid to go visit at the hospital. I went to visit my grandpa when he was really sick because of his heart.. he had to get a triple bipass.. amazingly he’s perfectly fine today. But the whole time I was there I had to stand outside the whole time to keep from crying. I don’t know how I’m going to be able to go to the hospital this time knowing not just that there’s a chance she might not make it, but a huge chance.

four eyes

Note to self: Check all your contact boxes and make sure they’re not empty before you throw away your last pair.

Too bad I threw them away simply becuase I was too lazy to take them out and put them in their little case before bed… oh well, guess I’m confined to glasses for a while. =D

cd collection: part 1

Well, since all of my favorite CDs are gone I’ve started replacing them. I went to Best Buy a few weeks ago and decided to get an old CD I used to have, and also a brand new one. The old one was Reggie & The Full Effect - Promotional Copy. Nothing like some good ol’ quality keyboard rock. I’d like to go see them at the 9:30 club in August, but I’m afraid if I get disappointed I’ll lose another favorite band. haha… we’ll see.

The new CD is Ozma - Spending Time On The Borderline. I didn’t really give it time to pass my like-it-long-enough-on-mp3-first-before-you-buy-it test, but I just bought it on a whim. Fortunately it turns out I am rather fond of it. It’s eerily similar to Weezer (before they went off the deep end) with some keyboard riffs here and there, but I guess that’s why I like it. Good rock & roll songs, kickass guitar licks, and good basslines that are nice and present in the mix. I’d have to say my favorite song is track 9 - Eponine.
